UNLV isn't close to obtaining Pac-12 academic standards


and the athletic department has a history of scandals in multiple sports. Unless the Pac-12 is desperate to become the Pac-16, then I think UNLV is too radioactive for the conference to consider. Also, I am not sure if UNLV has the discipline required to clean up its act.

Nevada-Reno is maybe the safer choice. However, the academics is only slightly better than UNLV and still along way aways from Pac-12 standards. Plus, Reno isn't exactly a large city and the Wolfpack have small athletic venues. If the Pac-12 did end up adding Nevada-Reno, then it would be adding another Wazzou.
